Content marketing strategist; observer and disdainer of trends in my spare time

Greetings! I’m a content marketing editor, writer and strategist based in Sydney, Australia. I’m passionate about good writing, technology, photography, cooking, cats and the Sydney Swans.

For about a decade, I worked at Nuix as editorial director, developing the company’s marketing content throughout its journey from startup to IPO and beyond.

Before that, I crafted corporate communications – including case studies, media releases, brochures, speeches, presentations, annual reports, websites, videos, newsletters and emails – for global technology, financial services, telecommunications and property management firms.

I also wrote about IT (mostly) for publications including APCThe Australian, Banking Technology, The Bulletin, C|Level, CRN, iTnews, Nett, The Official PlayStation Magazine, PC World, The Sydney Morning Herald, Technology & Business and ZDNet Australia.

From 2002 to 2004, I was editor of Technology & Business magazine, which helped IT decision makers choose the right technology tools for their needs. Technology & Business won Best New Title at the 2002 ITJourno Awards.

From 2008 to 2009 I edited Nett magazine, which gave small business owners the information and inspiration to make the most of online technologies. Nett was awarded Best B2B Magazine Launch at the 2008 Publishers Australia Bell Awards and Custom Magazine of the Year at the 2009 Bell Awards.

Before becoming a journalist, I worked in international trade and was very briefly the marketing manager for a risqué Melbourne nightclub. When I tried to convince the club manager that a website would be a great way to promote the business, he refused because ‘the internet is nothing but kids and perverts’.
